FISHING
It is public fishing at Lough Arrow renowned for wild brown trout, and so no permit is required. The trout season runs from 1st April - 31st September. A total of 4 fish can be bagged. Min length 12 inch. May is particularly popular with fishing when the May fly hatch – so please book in advance.
Lough Arrow is one of 5 unique Loughs that has naturally bred stock and is mainly spring fed and limestone based. Pike are also caught in Lough Arrow but neighbouring Lough Key, a 10 minute drive away is better known for pike fishing. We can store your boat if you are down for the season or the weekend. Lough Arrow maps are available from reception.

Other Loughs and rivers are also a short drive away in Boyle, Carrick on Shannon and Rooskey.

Local golf courses at Boyle, Carrick on Shannon and Ballymote.
Links courses at Sligo, Strandhill and Enniscronne within 30 min drive.
WALKING
We can offer ideas for local strolls or more strenuous hikes.
The miners way and Historical trail cross the area, with many standing stones and megalithic tombs on their route.
Good dog walking at Lough Key forest park, the shores of Lough Gill, Union Woods.
Beach walks at Lissadell Strand, Mullaghmore, Aughris Head .
Long Distance Walk: The Beara-Breifni Way, runs 500km north from the tip of Beara Peninsula, Dursey, Co. Cork, to Blacklion, in the Breifne region of Leitrim and Cavan. Part of the Miner's Way/Historical Trail passes 10 minutes from our site. (a 118km circular trail comprising three looped itineraries that course their way through parts of Roscommon, Leitrim and Sligo)
